3 Feet Smaller is a punk rock band from Austria that reached the Top Ten in 2009 with its fourth album after years of underground activity. Founded in 2000 in Vienna, Austria, the band is a trio comprised of Marcus Smaller (vocals, guitar), the General (bass), and Roberto Franko (drums). Established early on as a hard-working live band, 3 Feet Smaller made their full-length album debut in 2001 with Damn, We Need a Title for This Record on Pate Records. Their second album, Insert Album Title Here: .......... (2002), spawned a single "One Night Stand," while their third album, 3rd Strike (2004), was followed by a five-year anniversary live DVD release, Five Years of Bowling Punk (2005). Around this time, the band membership underwent some turnover, and several years passed before 3 Feet Smaller returned with their fourth album, December 32nd (2009). Their first major-label release after moving from Pate Records to Sony, December 32nd was a breakout album for the band, reaching the Top Ten of the Austrian albums chart and spawning the hit single "Tonight." ~ Jason Birchmeier
